We visited the site today at the request of Jeff Sterling to observe construction activities at the site.
Upon arrival to the site, we met with Jeff Sterling. We were informed that the entire interior slab -on -grade had
been removed from the common areas, underlying soils were removed and six inches of 5/8-inch minus crushed
rock was placed in thin lifts. The crushed roack was compacted with a jumping jack compactor. We evaluated
the proposed slab subgrade with a 0.5 inch diameter steel probe under moderate pressure. Probying yielded
penetrations of approximately I- to 2-inches indicating well compacted conditions. In our opinion, the slab
subgrade within the common room are appears to have been suitably prepared and is ready for placement of the
concrete slab.
Our findings and conclusions are based on specific observations made while on site.
