As requested, Earth Solutions NW, LLC (ESNW) has reviewed the referenced plans and
prepared this letter responding to City of Edmonds comments. The comments pertinent to the
geotechnical aspects of the project are provided below followed by our response.
City of Edmonds Comment 3 — It appears the east* drywell is within 50 feet of the landslide
hazard area will require geotechnical approval; revise drywell location or submit documentation
of geotechnical review and approval of the proposed revision.
The western drywell is within 50 feet of the potential landslide area. ESNW will review under
the assumption that the western drywell is the subject of review.

ESNW Response — ESNW has reviewed the referenced plans. Based on our review, the plans
conform to the recommendations and analyses in the referenced revised geotechnical
engineering study prepared by ESNW and to the referenced sections of the ECDC. In our
opinion, the infiltration surface of the drywell is located at a depth sufficient to not adversely affect
the landslide hazard area.
City of Edmonds Comment 4 — It appears the east* drywell is closer than five feet from the
property line and exactly five feet from the proposed structure; revise plan to maintain required
setbacks and/or provide additional geotechnical approval of reduced setback from proposed
structure.
The western drywell is within five feet of the proposed structure. ESNW will review under the
assumption that the western drywell is the subject of review.
ESNW Response — ESNW has reviewed the civil plans with respect to building setbacks. Based
on our review, the reduced setback will not adversely affect the building foundation. ESNW
should confirm footing setbacks during construction.
We trust this response to comments letter meets your current needs. Should you have questions,
or if additional information is required, please call.
Sincerely,
