We visited the site today at the request of Tony Collins of Northlight Custom Homes on behalf of
Darlene Stem to monitor the installation of pin piles beneath the proposed deck addition on the eastern
side of the residence located at 17019 — 73rd Place West in Edmonds, Washington.
Upon arrival we met with the contractors to discuss the tasks for the day. Robbins and Co. provided pile
installation services. Erosion control had been installed previously, and shallow excavations were made
for pipe and grade beam installation. We observed the contractor proceed to install all eight pin piles.
The contractor used 2-inch diameter galvanized schedule 80 pipe connected with internal slip couplers.
All of the pin piles were driven to a refusal criterion of less than one inch of movement during 60
seconds of continuous driving. Measurements were taken to the approximate cut-off height of 5-inches
above grade, and locations are shown in the site plan. The recordings are as follows:

We found no signs of instability on site slopes at the time of our visit.
Our findings and conclusions are based on observations of construction activity while on -site. The pin
piles observed installed today appear to have been suitably installed in accordance with the approved
plans and our recommendations, and should sufficiently support the planned loads.
