Subject: Request Information for your Tree Cutting Permit Application, File No.
CU-06-104
Dear Ms. Isaacson:
Your application for a Tree Cutting Permit at Lorian Woods has provided most of the
information that we require. However, before we can continue processing it we still need
the following information:
1.Revised Plot Plan:
A.The Engineering Division has requested that you show all city or private drainage
in the area of the work.
B.The Isaacson’s letter and some handwriting on the margins of the Tree/Action
worksheet state that some of the trees are on property other than the common
area, and other than as shown on the site plan. Please revise the site plan to show
the exact location of the trees, and show which lots the trees are really on. Please
also show Ms. Mantooth’s property line, so that it is clear that the trees are on her
property and not the property to the south.
C.Plot plan must be to scale; 1inch = 20 feet is recommended.
D.Show existing and proposed topography.
E.Show water seeps.
2.Provide the Adjacent Property Owner List (see handout).
3.No critical areas were found for lots 1, 2 or the common area. Please submit Critical
Areas checklists for the three sites.
4.Consistency: The trees proposed to be coppiced and removed on the application are
fewer than the trees mentioned in the arborist report. Which is proposed?
5.Questions for Arborist:
A.Provide a legend on the map that explains the “x”s and “/” across the trees.
B.On page 17 is a list of trees to coppice or remove. This list only starts with tree
16. The map shows trees 5,6,8,9,10,12,13,14, and 15 also being removed or
coppiced. Please make the two consistent. It would also be helpful to separate
out the “remove” from the “coppice” on page 17 to avoid any confusion.
C.Tree 23 is shown on the map with a slash through it, which I assume means to
coppice. In the list given in Attachment 8, no action is listed. Which is correct?
D.There is a tree shown near tree 41 that has an x through it and no number beside it,
but the tree shown closest to 41 has a slash through it and the proposed action is
coppice. Are there two trees there? Is the second tree to be removed?
E.Tree 58 does not have an x or a slash, and in the list in Attachment 8 there is a “?”
by it. What does that mean?

F.Trees 29 and 30 do not appear to be addressed in the Mantooth tree cutting
report. Were they outside of the area she requested you to look at?
G.Who wrote the notes in the margin of the list in Attachment 8 showing who’s
property the trees are in.
6.Provide the signatures of all property owners involved. We still need the Chiavellis
and Ms. Mantooth.
7.Provide a schedule for the replanting plan.
8.The geotechnical report mentions removal of landslide materials from the area. Note
that a grading permit is required for any grading in this area by ECDC chapter 19.10.
Please contact a Permit Coordinator for requirements for a grading permit application.
Please submit the above information as quickly as possible, so that your application may
be processed in an expedient manner. If you have any questions, please contact me at
(425) 771-0220, extension 1330.
Sincerely,
