The civil plans provided note that the Port of Edmonds will provide detention and/or water quality if required. Chapter 18 Edmonds Community Development Code requires storm water quality control for any new development or redevelopment with more than 2000 square feet of new impervious surfacing. In addition, runoff treatment BMPs will be required. The detention system design & calcs will need to be submitted at the time of building permit and will be reviewed by the City’s storm water engineer. Alternatively, a request for waiver from detention system requirements would need to be submitted to the City for review and approval. Runoff treatment will be required regardless of detention system requirements. If any of the above conditions exist within the Port of Edmonds site, supporting documents will need to be submitted indicating the capacity of the existing system and the ability to accept the additional surface water runoff flows from the subject development.
