Based on the review of the resubmittal, I am requesting for additional information/clarification based on your response(s). Please provide documents, recalculations and clarification
to items listed below. These items do reflect to the corresponding numbered questions that Leif Bjorback provided on his March xxx Plan Review Comments letter and your responses accordingly.
General Note:
1)Please clarify how the steel columns are to be fabricated. Will this work be on site or in a certified Mill/Shop? Note that either way, the welding must be performed by a WABO certified
welder, or otherwise approved by the building official.
2) Special Inspections for Soils have been identified for the project. Please have all parties listed sign the attached form and return to the City at any time prior to issuance of the
permit.
3)Special Inspections will also be required for structural items such as concrete, and possibly additional categories, based on the design that is proposed for the Simpson Strong Wall.
An additional special inspection agreement form will be provided for your attention once we receive your next response.
Structural:
5)It does not appear that the concerns of Item 5 on Leif Bjorback’s comment letter was clarified by your response. Calculations page 11 (B-10) states that the beam fails. You refer to
page 9 in your comments, this still does not address the point load that can be seen on Sheet S204 Grid line (A.1, 3). Please clarify and provide satisfactory calculations for the point
load at Beam 9, beam 10 connection.
17)It is understood by your comments that the TJSB has been replaced by a Simpson Strong Frame. To guide proper installations and inspection, please provideembedded anchoring as well
as all system fastening details and specifications for the Simpson Strong Frame on grid line “A” on the plans.
