GRADING NOTES
I. Unless otherwise specified, all work shall conform to the 1998 Standard Specifications
for road, bridge and municipal construction as published by the WSDQf and the
APWA, as amended by the City of Edmonds. All grading activity shall conform to
UBC, Chapter 70.
2. these plans do not represent the location of all existing utilities. 11 is the responsibility
of tree contractor to confirm the location and depth of existing utilities prior to
excavation.
3. The contractor shall be responsible for all safety considerations during file execution
of the work including french shoring per OSHA specifications and traffic control on
existing roads.
4. The engineer shall be notified immediately upon the .discovery of any conflicts or
discrepancies relative to these plans.
5. All material used as fill shall be approved pit run gravel or native rtlaferial that has
been observed and approved by the engineer.
6. All structural fill material shall be compacted to a minimum of 95% MDD (under
buildings, roads, driveways, walks, parking lots, efc.). This fill shall be compacted
during optimum moisture content in lifts not exceeding 12".
7. Compaction tests shall be taken for all structural fills at the direction of the engineer.
8. All french backfill material shall be compacted to 95% MUD within roads or 90%
outside of traffic areas.
9 Fill slopes shall not exceed 2:1 1 and cut slopes shall not exceed 1.5:1.
10. All disturbed ground Ihal is not to be paved or landscaped shall be covered with
hydroseed or seed and mulch per State DOE specifications.
11. All adjacent roads shall be kept clean and free from mud and debris. Contractor
shall be responsible for periodic roadway cleaning.
12.. Contractor shall take measures to minimize dust generated by grading activities
including frequent watering by an onsile water Truck if necessary.
