• Pursuant to UPC 605.2 a water service shutoff shall be installed on the water line as it enters the building.
• City approved plastic piping may be used in water service piping provided that where metal water service piping is used for
electrical grounding purposes, replacement piping shall be of like materials (UPC 604.8). A state electrical permit and
inspection is required if electrical grounding is altered, removed, improved, or added. Contact State Dept. of Labor &
Industries Electrical Division at 425-290-1309.
• Any request for the modification, variance or other administrative deviation (hereinafter "variance") must be specifically called
out and identified. Approval of any plat or plan containing provisions which do not comply with City code and for which a
variance has not been specifically identified, request and considered by the appropriate City official in accordance with the
appropriate provision of City code or State law does not approve any items not to code specification.
• Pursuant to UPC 608 a pressure regulator valve (PRV) shall be installed near the water shutoff.
• Sound/Noise originating fromtemporary construction sites as a result of construction activity are exempt fromthe noise limits
of ECC Chapter 5.30 only during the hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays and 10:00am and 6:00pm on Saturdays, excluding
Sundays and Federal Holidays. At all other times the noise originating from construction sites/activites must comply with the
noise limits of Chapter 5.30, unless a variance has been granted pursuant to ECC 5.30.120.

I reside at 1315 Olympic Avenue, one of the three properties that backs1040 Puget Drive
on the east side. I would like to request that you delay permits for this construction while
I have my property surveyed.
The map I received from your department shows a straight line boundary between 1040
Puget Drive and the three properties to the east of it: 1309, 1315 and 1327 Olympic
View Avenue. I believe my fence to be approximately 18 inches inside my property line
due to a cement barrier of some type in the ground on the opposite side of the fence.
Both of my neighbors, 1309 and 1327 have fences/boundaries approximately 18 inches
beyond mine. The drawings of the new construction use my fence as the boundary line.
I will have my property surveyed within the next 10 days.

. EXEMPTION FROM CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION
VERIFICATION FORM
The undersigned property owner or contractor has applied for a building permit from the City of
Edmonds and claims that he/she/it are exempt from providing contractor registration in accordance with
the provisions of RCW 18.27. The property o_,wner, by their signature below hereby verifies to the City of
Edmonds that:
❑ Value of work under $500.00. The aggregate contract price of labor and materials
and all other items required for the project is less than $500.00 and is not part of a larger
opertation to be undertaken on the property. The person employed to do this work has not
advertised nor otherwise put himself forward to the permittee to be a contractor or
qualified to engage in the business of a contract. RCW 18.27.090(9).
❑ Work performed personally on own property. The undersigned verifies that all work
done under this permit will be done by the permittee personally on his/her own property
and that the improvements constructed on the property are not being undertaken with the
intention and purpose of selling the improved property.
❑ Commercial property exemption. The permittee is the owner of commercial property
and the owner's own employees will perform all maintenance, repair and alteration work
on the property. No work will be done by contract under the permit. RCW 18.27.090(13).
❑ Licensed architect, engineer, electrician or plumber. All work performed under this
permit will be performed by an architect, civil or professional engineer, licensed electrician
or licensed plumber operating within the scope of his or her license. RCW 18.27.090(14).
General Contractor. The owner is the General Contractor for the project and is required
to hire a minimum of two licensed subcontractors (unrelated building trades or crafts). The
general contractor is responsible to verify all State licenses of subcontractor. RCW
18.27.010
