I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can sign off on
it I need the following:
1.Parking Requirements: Since the number of parking spaces will be changing, I need to make sure
that you still provide the required number of spaces. For churches, the required number is “one
space per four seats or one space per 40 square feet of assembly area, whichever is greater.”
a.Please count the number of seats in your sanctuary (assembly area) and provide the number of
seats. If seating is provided by pews or benches, you could give the lineal feet of pews.
b.Provide the area in square feet of the sanctuary.
c.Give the number of parking spaces provided in the other parking lot.
2.Landscaping:
a.Note that the code requires the plants used to screen the parking area to be 18 inches high on
planting.
b.There is a pattern in the planter beds beside the shrubs that is not defined that I can see. Will it
be lawn? Please specify what the grass-like pattern in the planting beds signify.
3.Neighborhood Church: Neighborhood churches are a permitted primary use in a single-family
residential zone, and are defined as having less than 22,000 square feet. I see that according to county
records, your main church building has 6,616 square feet of area and when I scale the office building
on the site plan, it has 736 square feet of area. On the full-site site plan I also see a “Youth” and
“Education” building, but I don’t know how large those are.
a.Please provide the area in square feet of the “Youth” and “Education” buildings.

Please make all submittals to the Development Services Permit Coordinator, and provide two copies of
any revised plans or elevations and three copies of any site plans. Your existing plans and elevations may
also be red-lined.
