I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can sign off on
it I need the following:
1.Sign Area: Per the Edmonds Community Development Code, section 20.60.025.A.2, “The maximum
total permanent sign area for allowed or permitted uses in the CG zone shall be one square foot of
sign area for each lineal foot of building frontage along a public street and/or along a side of the
building containing the primary public entrance to a maximum of 200 square feet.” You are
currently showing 239.69 square feet, which is under the 240 square feet as measured by the building
frontage, but is over the maximum of 200 square feet. Please note that for individual letter signs, we
do not require you to count the entire area around the outside of the sign, but you can count just the
area of each individual letter.
a.Please show how you meet the 200 square foot limit for all signs on this elevation.

Please make all submittals to the Development Services Permit Coordinator, and provide two copies of
any revised plans or elevations and three copies of any site plans. Your existing plans and elevations may
also be red-lined.
