The Fire Department provides the following comments and corrections in accordance with the 2003
International Fire Code and Edmonds Community Development Code. Awaiting replies for Building
and Engineering Division reviews also.
1. Sheet A1.0 GENERAL NOTES
Fire Prevention Program Superintendent
Callout with 24 hour emergency phone number for site.
That person will have the authority to stop work and make proper notifications for any emergency,
environmental or hazardous materials concern.
2. Sheet A1.0 GENERAL NOTES
Exterior and interior openings of vacant structures accessible to unauthorized persons shall be
boarded, locked, blocked or otherwise protected to prevent entry by unauthorized individuals.

3. Sheet A1.0 GENERAL NOTES
(As applicable) Construction work involving asbestos materials and asbestos abatement activities
shall be conducted in accordance with COE Building Department and Puget Sound Clean Air
(PSCA) protections, methods and approvals.
4. Sheet A1.0 GENERAL NOTES
Maintain fire hydrant for fire protection water supply during demolition.

Hazardous materials or tanks discovered during the course of demolition may require city approval
and/or mitigation permits. WA DOE may have additional requirements for project. For
environmental concerns, contact WA DOE Environmental Report Tracking System (ERTS) 425
