The following project has been evaluated under the Edmonds Community Development
Code, 2003 International Fire Code.
1. Permits required:
a. Fire sprinkler modifications require separate permit.
b. Building fire alarm notification plan requires separate permit.
c. Occupancy permit is required for storage of oxidizers exceeding MAQ of

504 ft. $30 annual permit fee is required to Edmonds Fire Dept. Your
permit will be issued upon final project approval.
2. Building sprinkler system is designed is to light hazard protection. Identify and

resolve any required upgrades for 2 floor gas storage.
3. One-hour Interior medical gas room required (IFC 3006.2.2). The room shall be
exhausted through a duct to the exterior. Supply and exhaust ducts shall be
enclosed in a 1-hr rated shaft enclosure from room to the exterior. Provide
mechanical ventilation at 1 cfm per 1 s.f. of storage room. Gas room will be
used only for the purpose of storing medical gas.
4. Sheet 1 & 2. Stored Medical Gases NOTE correction:
Per IFC we could have up to 6,000 CF stored on the site per control area
when the building is sprinklered throughout with NFPA 13 system and the
area is approved exhausted enclosure.
5. Locations containing cylinders containing only oxygen or medical air shall have
their door(s) labeled as follows:

6. Secure compressed gas cylinders against accidental dislodgement and room
against access by unauthorized entry. Secure storage cylinders at top 1/3 and
bottom 1/3 of each cylinder to avoid kick out.

7. Describe the protections installed for use of x-ray and phosphor plate sensor.
There is a question mark following the sensor equipment-why?
8. Install emergency lights in hall outside of ADA lavatory.
