The Fire Department provides the following comments and corrections in accordance with the 2003
International Fire Code and Edmonds Community Development Code:
1. Provide manual and automatic fire alarm system throughout for non-sprinklered structure
installed iaw IFC and NFPA 72 & remotely monitored.
2. Add note: dwelling and common area audibility must meet requirements of IFC 907.10.2
(typical).
3. Re-label Building A as 9504 and Building B as 9508 throughout.
4. Sheets 3 & 3A add note: See building plans for dwelling smoke (“Fire Alarm”) placement
(typical).
5. Sheet 4 add smoke & redesign RECREATION & LOUNGE for proper detection coverage.
6. Sheet 4 add heats under stair storage areas.
7. Consider magnetic hold-opens for open/efficient pedestrian flow across fire-rated assemblies.
8. Update riser diagram and circuit configurations.
