The Fire Department provides the following comments and corrections in accordance with the 2003
International Fire Code and Edmonds Community Development Code:
All permits:
1. GENERAL NOTES ALL permits:
a. Establish site drive aisle with two access points and maintain vehicle access through
construction work for firefighting purposes.
b. Maintain fire hydrant access through demo and construction work.
c. Identify Fire Prevention Program Superintendent POC and 24 hour telephone
contact for emergency purposes. Superintendent shall have authority to enforce fire
safety provisions.
IFC Sections 1408, 1410, 1412
2. Sheet A0.1 ALL permits:
a. 2A Correct “(NFPA 72A 72)”.
b. 2C. Correct “NFPA 13R “.
c. 2D. Add: “Fire Connection Permit required to be submitted with Civils, not deferred,”
d. 2E. Add: “Fire Safety and Evacuation Guide
Provide a guide which describes the location, function and use of fire
protection equipment and appliances accessible to residents, including fire
alarm systems, smoke alarms, and portable fire extinguishers in R2
apartments and condominiums .”
