EDM-PV1 – Sheet 17 – Paving and Horizontal Control Plan ok 1. ok 2. ok 3. ok 4. 1/14/10 – Please add a wheel stop to the northernmost parking stall on the west side of the 5. parking lot. 12/1/09 - Please show all wheel stops that are to be located along the parking stalls adjacent to pedestrian walkways. 1/14/10 – Please note the canopy and windscreen reference as typical (typ). 6. 12/1/09 - Please reference to platform shelter details found within architectural plan set. 1/14/10 – Please note this request is for removal and replacement of all temporary asphalt 7. walkway, curb and gutter. These areas can easily be identified/quantified and the note shouldn’t cause problems for prospective bidders. Bld20080257 Sound Transit Edmonds Station Page 2 of 7 12/1/09 - Please add a note to the plans that indicates all temporary asphalt walkway, curb and gutter is to be removed and replaced with concrete walk, curb and gutter. It appears as though the restoration boundaries might fall just short of encompassing the entire asphalt area. ok 8. ok 9. ok 10. EDM-PV2 – Sheet 18 – Paving and Horizontal Control Plan ok 1. EDM-PV3 – Sheet 19 – Paving and Horizontal Control Plan 1/14/10 – Consistent with our discussions on 1/13/10, please revise plans to show sidewalk 1. curb ramps that are necessary to transition the full height sidewalk to be flush with the stained concrete driveway approach. Please see attached plan markup of what this could look like. 12/1/09 - While it is not clear from this plan sheet if the stained concrete area is flush with the driveable surface, it appears from Sheet 32-EDM-PS3 that it is. a.A break in the curb is noted on the west side of the stained concrete, but curb ramps have been provided to indicate a grade change from sidewalk to driveable surface. Please revise accordingly. b.It appears as though the curbing should wrap around the sidewalk areas. Please revise accordingly. ok c. ok 2. 1/14/10 – Please note this request is for removal and replacement of all temporary asphalt 3. walkway, curb and gutter. These areas can easily be identified/quantified and the note shouldn’t cause problems for prospective bidders. 12/1/09 - Please add a note to the plans that indicates all temporary asphalt walkway, curb and gutter is to be removed and replaced with concrete walk, curb and gutter. It is difficult to tell if the restoration boundaries encompass the entire asphalt area. 1/14/10 – A few light pole locations are now in too close of proximity to the water main. In 4. addition, light poles should not be located within the easement area. Please relocate accordingly. 12/1/09 - Several light pole locations appear to be proposed over the top of existing utilities. Please revise plans accordingly. ok 5. ok 6. ok 7. ok 8. EDM-PVD1 – Sheet 20 – Paving Details 1/14/10 – Comment not addressed. 1. 12/1/09 - Detail 2 – ACP Trench Restoration Detail – add note that ACP shall be 3” or match existing if existing in ACP is greater than 3”. 1/14/10 – Comment not addressed. 2. Bld20080257 Sound Transit Edmonds Station Page 3 of 7 12/1/09 – Detail 3 - Please revise to indicate 95% compaction of subgrade consistent with City standard detail E2.3. 1/14/10 - Detail 5 – Revise ramp detail to call out 4’ minimum landing at top of ramp. 3. EDM-PVD3 – Sheet 22 – Paving Details ok 1. EDM-PVS1 – Sheet 23 – Cross Sections ok 1. EDM-GD1 – Sheet 24 – Grading, Drainage and Utility Plan 1/14/10 – Please reference construction Note #11 at the 3-valve cluster in West Dayton. 1. 12/1/09 - Show the required thrust block at the “T” in the water main 3-valve cluster in West Dayton. ok 2. ok 3. ok 4. 1/14/10 – Thank you for relocating the water main and identifying the easement area. It 5. appears as though a few of the parking lot light posts are now located within the easement area and the concrete bases are too close to the water main. Please refer to Sheet 19 comment #4 above. 12/1/09 - Please adjust the location of the water and storm mains as follows on Sheets 24, & 25: a.The City would like a 15’ easement for the water main. While the easement will not be provided until after the main install, consistent with plan note #5, the storm line will need to be located outside the easement area. Show the location of the future water main easement on the plans and adjust water and storm locations as needed so the only utility within the easement area is the water main. b.Move water main to west of current proposed location to eliminate/avoid bends in the line. c.Move the storm main east as needed to provide separation from water main and reduce the need for bends in the water main. 6.The plans indicate the water service line will be 1 ½” diameter, while construction note 4 states the size of the service is 1”. Is note 4 really a reference to the water meter? Please revise accordingly and ensure water meter size is called out on the plans. ok 7. ok 8. ok 9. 1/14/10 – It appears as though an existing storm catch basin has not been accounted for in 10. the vicinity of the new water service line, RPBA and storm CB #2 near West Dayton. Please revise plans accordingly. EDM-GD2 – Sheet 25 – Grading, Drainage and Utility Plan 1.Plans indicate boring of a steel casing pipe under the railroad track and into Railroad Ave. a.What utility will be placed in the in the steel casing? b.Will the utility be placed with this project or is it for future use? Bld20080257 Sound Transit Edmonds Station Page 4 of 7 c.Please clarify the area shown to the west of the steel casing in Railroad Ave. Is this the remaining trench section for the utility or is this a bore pit? d.Where will equipment be staged for this work? 2.Add in-line valves to either both sides of the hydrant connection to the main line. EDM-GD3 – Sheet 26 – Grading, Drainage and Utility Plan ok 1. ok 2. ok 3. ok 4. ok 5. ok 6. ok 7. 1/14/10 – I am currently checking with staff to see if a separate encroachment permit will 8. be required for the private water service lines and backflow assembly located in Railroad Street. EDM-SDD2 - Sheet 29 – Storm Drain and Utility Details ok 1. ok 2. EDM-PS1 – Sheet 30 – Striping and Signage 1.ok 2.ok 3.ok 4.ok 1/14/10 – Pay Box is still showing on this plan sheet. 5. 12/1/09 - Remove Pay Box (shown at entrance to parking lot) from this plan sheet. 1/14/10 – Please add a wheel stop to the northernmost parking stall on the west side of the 6. parking lot. 12/1/09 - Please show all wheel stops that are to be located along the parking stalls adjacent to pedestrian walkways. ok 7. ok 8. 1/14/10 – Revise cross walk striping to show solid lines, similar to that shown on Sheet 32- 9. EDM-PSI 1/14/10 – No parking signs are shown to be installed facing the pedestrian crosswalk 10. located in the middle of the parking lot. As these signs will not be visible to vehicles, you might consider painting the curb yellow instead. EDM-PS2 – Sheet 31 – Striping and Signage 1/14/10 – Thank you for adding the pavement striping, however, the striping is difficult to 1. see. Please add a note that further brings attention to this striping. Bld20080257 Sound Transit Edmonds Station Page 5 of 7 12/1/09 - Add pavement striping (just South of station) to better direct one-way traffic in both the NB and SB directions. Striping should allow one-way traffic to continue around the parking island as well as direct the two-way traffic heading south into the one-way lane. 1/14/10 – Comment not addressed. 2. 12/1/09 - Rotate Do Not Enter Sign (Note 3) to properly face SB movement. ok 3. ok 4. 1/14/10 – Revise cross walk and ADA access aisle striping to show solid lines, similar to 5. that shown on Sheet 32-EDM-PSI 1/14/10 – Striping has not been indicated for the ADA accessible path from the 3 ADA 6. stalls shown north of the Amtrak building to the curb ramp. Please revise. 1/14/10 – Add 20’ of center line delineating northbound and southbound lanes on the 7. south side of the James Street traffic circle. 1/14/10 - Add striping at James Street intersection approach (for northbound traffic and 8. westbound traffic) indicating that vehicles shall yield. Striping of isosceles triangles shall be as shown on page 3B – 25 & 26 of 2003 MUTCD. EDM-PS3 – Sheet 32 – Striping and Signage 1/14/10 – Thank you for adding the stop sign. It appears as though a Right Turn Only 1. sign is identified on this stop sign and the stop sign at the exit from Railroad onto Main Street. The MUTCD does not allow for placement of additional signs on the same post as a stop sign. Please revise accordingly. 12/1/09 - Add Stop Sign to access Railroad Street heading west out of Skipper's parking lot. ok 2. ok 3. 1/14/10 – Add 20’ of centerline delineating westbound and eastbound lanes on the east side 4. of the James Street traffic circle. 1/14/10 - Add striping at James Street intersection approach (for westbound traffic) 5. indicating that vehicles shall yield. Striping of isosceles triangles shall be as shown on page 3B – 25 & 26 of 2003 MUTCD. 1/14/10 – No parking along Railroad Street should just be indicated by yellow curb – 6. signage is redundant in this case. Please remove signage. 1/14/10 – Please relocate the Do Not Enter sign, shown on the west side of Railroad Street 7. near Main Street, so it is closer to the Main Street intersection. This sign will need to be visible to traffic heading east on Main Street. Placing the sign in the concrete is acceptable with a use of a unistrut post and sleeve. EDM-PS4 – Sheet 33 – Striping Details Please note on this plan set which details are provided in the spec book. Please add detail 1. for striping of Yield indicators as required per comment #8/Sheet 31 above. LANDSCAPE PLAN – EDM-LO1 – SHEET 74 1/14/10 – Please remove crosswalk striping from crossing in between planter areas in 1. middle of parking lot. Bld20080257 Sound Transit Edmonds Station Page 6 of 7 LANDSCAPE PLAN – EDM-LO2 – SHEET 75 1/14/10 – Show access aisle striping from ADA stalls to curb ramp. 1.
