Please redline plans or submit three (3) sets of revised plans/documents with a written response to each of the items below to Linda Thornquist. City of Edmonds handouts, standard details and development code can be referenced on the City website. GENERAL 1.Please submit a traffic control and haul route plan. 2.A separate right-of-way construction permit will be required for all work proposed within the City right-of-way. The contractor will be required to sign the application. 3.Please label Main Street on individual plan sheets as applicable. 4.Please add or provide reference to Construction Sequence and General Notes similar to the attached examples. 5.The storm drainage system design will be reviewed by Stormwater Engineer Jerry Shuster when the revised drainage plan is submitted to the City. Sheet 3 of 12 – SITE PREP AND EROSION CONTROL 1.Clearly show the existing storm system within the project vicinity and installation of filter socks to provide catch basin protection as needed. 2.A rock construction entrance detail is provided on sheet 10, but the plans make no reference to the installation of such. Please clarify plans or provide a detail of this area. 2.Please revise construction notes as follows: #7: Add reference the manhole frame & lid detail provided on Sheet 11. #9: Add reference to the beehive detail provided on Sheet 8. Sheet 10 of 12 – STANDARD PLANS/DETAILS 1.Refer to comment #2 under sheet 3 above. Will a rock entrance be installed with this project? 2.Please add a trench patch detail for water main installation in Main Street. 3.I could not find reference on the plans to the downspout infiltration detail. Where will this be applied? Sheet 11 of 12 – STANDARD PLANS/DETAILS 1.Please revise manhole detail to indicate Storm instead of Sewer. Sheet 12 – WATERMAIN 1.Please add sheet number. 2.Indicate on plans the extent of asphalt cut and trench repair. Reference trench patch detail. 3.Please add notes with regards to shut down of existing city water system to allow for installation of the proposed 3-valve cluster in Main Street. Affected residents shall be notified of shut down a minimum one-week in advance. AS A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT, ALL DISTURBED AREAS ON AND OFF SITE SHALL BE RETURNED TO THE EQUIVALENT OF THEIR PRECONSTRUCTION CONDITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROPRIATE REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS. 20. WASHING OF THESE STREETS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL. 22. THIS PROJECT IS NOT A BALANCED EARTHWORK PROJECT. BOTH EXPORT AND IMPORT OF SOIL AND ROCK MATERIALS ARE REQUIRED. Page 5 of 6 23. SLOPE OF FINISHED GRADE SHALL BE CONSTANT BETWEEN FINISHED CONTOURS OR SPOT ELEVATIONS SHOWN. 24. FINISHED GRADE SHALL SLOPE AWAY FROM BUILDING WALLS AT MINIMUM 5% SLOPE FOR A MINIMUM DISTANCE OF 10 FEET. 25. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AND SHALL INSTALL AND MAINTAIN SHORING AND BRACING AS NECESSARY TO PROTECT WORKERS, EXISTING BUILDINGS, STREETS, WALKWAYS, UTILITIES AND OTHER EXISTING AND PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS AND EXCAVATIONS AGAINST LOSS OF GROUND OR CAVING EMBANKMENTS.
