RE: Planning Division comments for file BLD20110348 (Demetri’s Woodstone Taverna)
Greetings,
Thank you for submitting a building permit application for two new wall signs at 101 Main Street in
the BD2 zone. I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was
found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before the
Planning Division review can continue.
1.Sign Area: The maximum sign area for this property is 48 square feet, as shown on the elevations
provided with the application. This area may be divided up between the two proposed signs, but the
total sign area may not exceed 48 square feet. Each sign is shown as either 37 or 34.8 square feet.
Please revise the proposal to comply with the maximum sign area (possibly reducing each sign to be 24
square feet).
2.Sign Height: Please provide the height of each sign on the elevations (as measured from the top of the
sign to grade). The code requires illuminated signs to be under 14 feet in height downtown.
However, there is an interpretation pending related to halo-lit signs which may help you out, but it

would not be effective until June 2.
