Westfall 425.771.0213 Subject:PRE20110011: Modular Medical Oncology Facility th 2160X 76 Ave W The following project has been evaluated as group B ambulatory healthcare occupancy under the 2009 International Fire and Edmonds Community Development Codes. 1. Contact Linda Thornquist to identify unique address for project structure. thth 2. Call out fire access “through” lane from 216 St SW to 218 St SW with minimum specification of 34’ inside radius & 42’ outside radius at turns, 20’ paved with vertical clearance no less than 13’6” and striped at both boundaries with 4” yellow perimeter/curb striping and identified with words “FIRE LANE – NO PARKING”. Letters shall be 12” high with 2” stroke spaced 50 lineal feet on alternating sides of lane. 3. Two public fire hydrants are required upon approach and departure spaced within 150 around perimeter and 50’ from building. Callout FH locations along fire access routes. ECDC 19.25.060 C&D / COE standard detail E7.1. 4. Fire Connection must be submitted at the same time as your civil engineering plans and coordinated therein. Fire connection permit is required for the installation of the underground supply for your fire protection systems. Underground design must be stamped by registered PE or a Level III (WA) fire sprinkler contractor AND the installer must also stamp the plans. The installer must be either Level III or Level “U” fire sprinkler contractor licensed by the State. RCW 18.160.070 / RCW 18.27.110 5. Fire hydrant spacing required at 150’ and drive access points for commercial zones. Install 4” Storz (1/4 turn) coupling adapter for existing private and public hydrants serving this project in accordance with COE standard detail E7.1 (http://www.ci.edmonds.wa.us/CityDepartments/EngrDept/Edmonds-Std- Details/CityOfEdmondsStandardDetails.pdf 6. Apparatus access driveway must meet the following minimum specifications: 6.1. Maintain design accommodation of 34’ inside radius & 42’ outside radius at turns in fire lane. Fire Department access roads are required to be of 20' paved width with a vertical clearance of no less than 13 feet 6 inches (except the SE entrance and fire lane along eastern property shall extend from curb to curb). 6.3. Fire lane shall be striped on both boundaries with 4” yellow perimeter striping and identified with words “FIRE LANE – NO PARKING”. Letters shall be 12” high with 2” stroke spaced 50 lineal feet on alternating insides of lane. 7. Required permits/submittals include: 7.1. Fire Connection (see #4) 7.2. Fire Sprinkler System Permits 7.3. Fire Alarm Permits 7.4. Fire Protection Footprints (example attached). 8. New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals and a minimum of 6 inches high with a minimum stroke width of ¾ inch and visible from public way. ECDC 19.00.025 O. 9. Provide fire department lockboxes for systems access direct from exterior.
