RE: Planning Division comments for file BLD20120228 -- Key Bank Signs and Awnings
Greetings,
Thank you for submitting a building permit application for Key Bank signs and awnings at 9930 Edmonds Way in
the BN zone. I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that
the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before the Planning Division
review can continue.
1.Sign Area: The maximum sign area is based on the length of the wall containing the primary public entrance,
which is shown as 52.58 feet – giving you 52.58 square feet of sign area, total, to divide among three signs,
max. One sign is shown as 59.15 square feet, and two are 20.12 square feet – a proposed sign area of 99.39,
which is 46.81 square feet over the maximum sign area allowed.
Please reduce the total sign area to remain at or under 52.58 square feet by providing a calculation of the sign
letters and symbols for me to review. Otherwise, please reduce the total sign area OR make an application to
our Architectural Design Board (ADB) if you feel that a variance to our code standards are in order (see ECDC
20.60.015.B for details on the ADB review process for signage requests). Please note that applications to the
ADB generally take approximately 3 months to process.
Please submit a written response to the above, along with any revised plans to your Permit Coordinator: Linda
