Please Note: Building Handouts do not include updated Engineering Division Requirements. Refer to Engineering Handouts for all Engineering Requirements. General Comments: 6/7/13: Done Sheet SP1.0 Site Plan: 1. Impervious calculations under “Drainage Data” are incorrect. See comment under “Drainage Plan”. Please remove from plan and add the correct Impervious Surface Calculation box to plan. 2. Not sure what the hatch line is along the edge of the asphalt road refers to, please label. 3. Remove area of disturbance from this plan. Shown on grading plan. 4. Please revise plan to reflect changes made to civils. 5. Label all landscape walls. Sheet C1/C2-Grading/TESC Plan: 6/7/13: Done Sheet C4 Drainage Plan: 6/7/12 Done New Drainage comment: A ten foot minimum distance between the manhole structure and the footings shall be maintained. Please call out on plans. Sewer Pump Report: The Sewage Pump Report does not meet all the criteria required. Please review the Engineering Handout E62 for more information. DATE FAXED/E-MAILED 7/2/2017 The Sewer Pump review was performed by Mike DeLilla, Senior Utilities Engineer. The following documents were reviewed: Sewerage Pump Station Predesign Report For George Olson SFR originally dated April 27, 2011, revised March 28, 2013 and Civil Plans Submitted 4/5/13. 6/7/12 Pump Comments General comment. Recommend that engineer talk with pump manufacturer so that they provide head loss calculations and recommended pump. This will help ensure that the optimal pump is provided for the project. 1.Based on elevation data given in part E of report, the static head elevation calculation of 106 – 81.5 should be 24.5 ft not 28.5 ft please revise. 2.Please add pump off elevation in part E. Based on what I can tell it’s set at 81.6. Please verify and annotate accordingly. 3.Headloss calculation in Part E for 25GPM should be interpolated to give more accurate value. 4.In part F, based on the attached tables in the appendix, fitting minor loss for 90 degree bronze ell is 5ft not 4ft. Also, minor loss equation does not appear to be used properly. Based on tables in appendix, fitting calculation for psi/100 feet is actually ft/100ft. Also data used is for PVC pipe instead of the bronze fittings that are called out in the title. This will affect all calculations in part F. Also, please break down how the gate valve loss number was calculated and how it will vary based on discharge rate. Currently only one value is shown. Finally, for the pump station pipe loss, I don’t know where the 0.7’, 0.7’ and 0.11’ numbers for the 25/35/35gpm rates come from. 5.Revise the values of pump operating curve in part G after comments above are addressed. Also, it appears that Hf values are not included in calculation. Plus it appears that the system operating velocity was added to the TDH equation. Since the equation is in feet, adding a value that has different units (ft/s value) is not allowed. Please revise so that all units are the same. 6.In part I, the minimum required volume is 165 gallons. Wet well capacity is measured from pump on to alarm level. Please verify pump on elevation. In part E it’s 83.1, in part I it’s 83.0. This value will also affect calculation of Maximum cycle volume and storage volume. If it turns out that volume is not sufficient, it appears that alarm level can be raised further so that it’s only 0.5’ from gravity pipe invert elevation. Sheet3 st 1.Please provide annotations to force main system as requested in 1 review comment’s, Utility Civil Plan comment #11. 2.Based on plans it appears that force main will extend past the property line and that the gravity line will have a curvilinear portion. The gravity pipe must be laid in a straight line without bends. st 3.Please included statement on this plan sheet in regard to 1 review comment’s, Utility Civl Plan comment #6. 4.Show hose bib location & panel location on this sheet and cross reference to their respective design/plan sheet. Sheet5 5.Revise pump calc volume to reflect volume being calc’d from pump off elev to alarm level. Anything above alarm does not count toward volume calc, since it’s there for emergency purposes. DATE FAXED/E-MAILED 7/2/2017 Sheet C5 Utility Plan: 1. 6/7/13 Please move water meter to the southeast corner of the site. Private utilities can not be approved that run parallel to the property line in the right of way. The water main has been extended to a point adjacent to the southeast corner of the site to avoid this kind of situation. Water service is not addressed on this plan. Show line from connection at meter to connection at house. 10ft sep required from sewer line. Label meter as new or existing and call out size. Call out water service line material, length and size. 2. 6/7/13 Done. 3. 6/7/13 Done. DATE FAXED/E-MAILED 7/2/2017
