During review of the subject submittal, it was found that the following information, corrections, or
clarifications would need to be addressed. All Handouts and Standard Details referred to in these
comments can be accessed at our website: www.edmondswa.gov by choosing the Government tab and
Public Works| Engineering under Departments:
Please Note: Building Handouts do not include updated Engineering Division Requirements. Refer to
Engineering Handouts for all Engineering Requirements.
1. Please call out inverts at each end of stormtech chamber.
2. Call out material, length and size of all proposed pipe.
3. Please label each section of house, garage and driveway with impervious square footage.
4. Call out length of storm chamber on plan.
5. The geotech reports notes that a chamber system exceeding the city’s minimum criteria
could possibly be shorter than the 77.4 ft length required. Please add clarity to this
statement. If the plan is to install a system less than 77.4 ft, please specify the criteria that
exceeds the city’s minimum requirements and provide the length necessary to mitigate the
proposed impervious surface.
6. Show location and extent of temporary erosion control measures to be installed on the site
plan.
7. Please add some more detail to the driveway showing clearly which sections will directed
to each catch basin and the area that will not be mitigated through the chamber. Note
square footage.
The following comments are from the City Stormwater Engineer, Jerry Shuster:

The geotechnical report correctly sizes the chambers to 77.4 ft in length using StormTech model 310. This is for
6,143 square feet of impervious surface area. I was not able to verify the impervious surface area from the site
plan.
The site plan shows approximate 60 ft of infiltration chambers not the 77.4 ft minimum that is required based on
6,143 square feet of impervious surface area.
Catch basins in the driveway with rim elevation sod 107 ft and 105.5 ft should be Type 1Ls for solids removal
prior to the chambers.
The bottom of the gravel chamber bed should be at the same elevation that the grain size samples were
collected (5 to 6 feet below ground surface)
The chambers shall be install per the manufacturers specification.
An overflow path must be specified that does not cause downstream erosion or flooding
Please resubmit 3 copies of the revised plans/documents to a Development Services Coordinator. Please
contact me at 425-771-0220 if you have specific questions regarding these plan corrections.
