Fire Civil review is still pending. 1) It appears the CIRCULATION HALLS serve as CORRIDORS by IBC 407.2 definition. Explain how unrated assemblies without self- or automatic-closing features used in CORRIDORS doors “provide an effective barrier to limit the transfer of smoke”? (Bjorback #2) 2) It appears that fire alarm system plans will be designed with corridor; areas open to corridor; and living units for automatic smoke detection due to omission of living unit smoke alarms. Describe your intent for automatic smoke detection in corridors and living units for IBC 407.8 & IFC 907.2.6.2. 3) Describe mechanical protection of through penetrations for ducts and air transfer openings, especially where ducts crossover corridor smoke barriers and area separation wall. IBC 714.3 & 714.5. 4) A-0.0 a. Revise: PROPERTY INFO : FIRE SPRINKLERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH IFC 903.3.1.1 STANDARD (NFPA 13). b. Add: DEFERRED SUBMITTALS i. Reference also M4.0 Detail #8. See IFC 105.7.3. iv. LIFE SAFETY PLAN (DOH #T3) 5) A-0.0 & A-2.0 For EXIT at match line D1, show exit access to public way or call out sufficient safe dispersal area at discharge. If the exit does not meet this prescription, remove from your calculations. 6) A-1.1 Callout volumes of diesel storage for GENERATOR, provide specifications, and describe/locate switch controls. 7) A-1.1 Callout SNOHOMISH FD1 Knox box installation at exterior access to sprinkler riser room and main entry. 8) A-2.0 a. I-2 CORRIDOR requirements for walls and doors in CIRCULATION HALL should be continued throughout BASEMENT. 14) A-2.14 DOOR NOTES Type “E” shutter is not found. Call out location and fire-resistive rating on schedule or remove from notes. 15) A-2.14-.15 & E-0.0-0.1 a. Delayed egress must meet special locking arrangements called out in IFC 1008.1.9.6. b. NURSECALL MASTER STATION control location is approved for “constantly attended location”. 16) A-3.0 Post address numbers on building minimum 6” in height on contrasting background. 17) E-5.0 KITCHEN GENERAL NOTES #2. (Gas supply and) Electrical outlets under Type I hood shall disconnect upon suppression system actuation. 18) Sign MEDICAL GAS (134) and FIRE SPRINKLER CONTROL (135) rooms. 19) A7.5 Details #8 & #19 Sign ROOF ACCESS at STORAGE 207, KITCHEN 122, and PT-STORAGE 285. 20) M4.0 Detail #10 Call out valve signage indicating compartments/ areas served by valve at valve box. 21) FIRE PROTECTION submittal comments: a. Sprinkler covered areas at porte-cochere, covered COURTYARD seating, and soffit overhangs 4’0” and wider. b. For hydraulic elevator, shaft should be considered “limited combustible”, requiring only pit sprinkler. c. Curtains in units should be designed to accommodate fire sprinkler application and coverage. d. Provide sprinklers under STAIRS used for storage. e. Collocate fire alarm panel in sprinkler riser room and provide lobby enunciator. f. Fire alarm visible alarm installation requirements follow IFC Table 907.5.2.3.3 and IFC 907.5.2.3.4 in accessible & Type B units. All other units need only be wired for future capability. g. Fire alarm occupant notification per IFC 907.5.2.7. h. Type 1 hood tied to building fire alarm. 2
