This Review is conducted in accordance with 2012 IFC and Edmonds Community Development
Code.
1) Sheet A0.00
a. No fire sprinkler or fire alarm installations to modify according to Building
Department records, hence, no DEFERRED SUBMITTAL requirement for 3)
FIRE SUPPRESSION, and 4) SMOKE DETECTION. Delete requirements 3 & 4,
however, see #2c below.
b. If fire alarm system is approved, Knoxbox series lock box will be required for
installation. See www.knoxbox.com and follow directions for purchase of
Snohomish Fire District #1 series box.

a. Will there be single tenant for entire 2 floor, responsible for control of both
doors to EXIST HALLWAYs (203), and (211)?
b. If multiple tenants;
i. Call out the door and hardware for door separating EXIST HALLWAY
(211) and EXIST OPEN OFFICE (221).
ii. Also call out the door and hardware for assembly separating EXIST
HALLWAYs (201) and (203).
c. Clarify installation of FIRE ALARM panel in EXIST VESTIBULE (003). Per
Building Department records, no historic permits show approved fire alarm
installation.
d. Emergency pathway lighting shall be (provided, or) maintained in EXISTING
HALLWAYs leading to exit doors (203) and (104), as well as stair and entry
hallways. IFC 1006.3(3).

EXIT illumination shall be (provided, or) maintained IFC 1011.1.

a. It appears door 201 is intended to be locked during periods other than “during
business hours”. This allowance is intended only at the “main exterior door(s)” to
the building and does not apply to individual tenant entries for leased spaces

inside Group B buildings. Provide alternative proposal for security on 2 floor.
