COMMENTS ON RESPONSE
The Fire Department provides the following comments and corrections in accordance with the 2012
International Fire Code and Edmonds Community Development Code Title 19.
CITY REQUIREMENTS
1. NOTE: Open fire alarm permit BLD20150547 for replacement FACP & AES. Verify work and
provide system service report.
2. NOTE: Verify existing/modified sprinkler system service report
3. NOTE: Knox box will be required at gated entry.
4. NOTE: Field check clearances and signage for fire protection FDC(s), appliances and equipment
access locations.
5. Install sign in PAINT ROOM or that provided by manufacturer: MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE
QUANTITY NOT TO EXCEED 120 GALLONS OF FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS.
6. Post address 23510 at east elevation
7. Occupancy type is indicated as S1 throughout. Group F-1 includes finishing, repair or processing
operations for automobiles. This reviewer suggests that SANDING AND PAINT, SANDING &
PREP SHOP and SANDING-PREP-PARTS-STORAGE EAST be retyped. New addition DETAIL
AREA may remain S1/S2. IBC 508.4 allows S1 and F1 to share building space with no required
separations.
8. Occupant load factor is 200. Occupant load is calculated at 6577/200=32. Only one exit is
