accordance with Section 22.1.3 of NFPA 13 and note the fire stop systems that will

3. The lateral sway bracing calculations assume that the post -installed anchors will be
embedded into 6,000 psi concrete. Please confirm that this is the case.
4. Please clarify on the plans how restraint of branch lines will be provided as
required by Section 9.3.6 of NFPA 13.
5. Hydraulic calculations for the Class I standpipe systems were not provided as
required by Section 7.10.1.2.1 of NFPA 14. Please address.
6. Sheet FP 1: Please address the following...
a. The 2013 edition of NFPA 13 is referenced while the State of Washington
still enforces the 2010 version. The 2010 version of NFPA 14 should also
be referenced.
b. The "Hanger Detail" does not specify the diameter or required embedment
of the Hilti KB TZ anchors. In addition, please note that the maximum
spacing between hangers is 10 -feet per Section 9.1.3.5 (Item 3) of NFPA
13 rather than what is listed in Table 9.2.2.1.
c. The "Wet & Dry Riser Assembly List" notes that a 625 gallon compressor
capacity is required yet a calculation complying with Section 7.2.3 of
NFPA 13 has not been provided.
d. The "Riser Elevation" does not specify the kind and location of the alarm
bell as required by Section 22.1.3 of NFPA 13, Item 26, nor has material
data for the alarm been provided.
7. Sheet FP 2: The 2-1/2" mains will be attached directly to a Unistrut member
anchored to the concrete parking garage walls. Please clarify how the Unistrut
member will be attached to the wall and the maximum spacing of the pipe
attachments to the Unistrut members.
8. Sheet FP 3: Please address the following...
a. Sway bracing is not currently specified for the 2-1/2" mains at the garage
as required by Section 9.3.5.3.1 of NFPA 13.
b. Sway bracing is not currently specified at the 4" feeders which run along
Grid F from the riser to the mains.
9. Sheets FP 4 — FP 6: There are several instances throughout the residential plans
that it appears appropriate sprinkler coverage may not be provided. The following
lists some examples. Please review the design and revise as necessary.
a. There appear to be some locations (i.e. Unite N-2) where the Tyco LFII
sidewall sprinklers are spaced more than 16 -feet apart while the material
data provided notes a maximum spacing of 16 -feet.
b. There are several areas where it appears that sidewall sprinklers will not
provide adequate coverage as shown. Examples would include the
bathroom in unit N-2 or the kitchen in unit M-2.
