Bruce,
I’m sorry I didn’t get this to you yesterday. The power went out before I had a chance to email it to
you.
The following comment is from Mike DeLilla, Senior Utilities Engineer:
Section @ Entry Planter does not show the sewer main and its depth in relation to the two
affected planters. It only has a note saying: ‘open bottom NO SURCHARGE ON SEWER
MAIN.’ It is understood that portions of the sewer will be under the ‘open bottom’, but
portions of the sewer will be under three separate wall footings as well. The engineer of
record needs to show as part of this submittal the depth of sewer in relation to the depth of
the wall footing, make the determination of what separation is needed so that a surcharge
does not occur, and if a surcharge condition exists, that the contractor knows what to do if
an overcharging scenario is encountered. Just having a note without any parameters will
only confuse the contractor during construction.
A portion of the sewer main within the newly developed area is not shown on the plans.
Please show.
The only other comment I have is the Site Plan provided for the Encroachment permit does not
appear to meet the Snohomish County requirements. Please refer to Snohomish County
(http://snohomishcountywa.gov/280/Document-Format-Requirements), for those requirements.
We will need a new Site Plan for the encroachment permit, but I don’t need the site plan before we
issue the permit. We will need it prior to engineering final (construction).
It looks like I’m the last one to sign off, so resubmit once you have Mike’s comments addressed.
Kristin, when this comes back in, can you please move it to the top of my list.
Thanks,
Jennifer Lambert
