Subject: BLD2016-0506 Post Office Phase II, 201 Main Street
This Review is conducted in accordance with 2012 IFC and Edmonds Community Development
Code.
1) A2.01 call out fire hydrant and proposed FDC Location,
2) G0.02 Deferred Submittal for the following: Fire Connection, Fire Sprinkler, Fire Alarm,
Fire Standpipe, Emergency Responders Radio System (if required).
3) GENERATOR.
a. For what function is the generator? Will backup power be used for elevator
evacuation per 3008 and what allowances are you applying with that?
b. Provide specifications for generator, fuel type, and fuel quantity stored.
c. Specifications for generator are provided, call location.
4) Post address on frontage with letters minimum 6" on contrasting background,
5) Take in account lower dry sprinkler piping in unheated garage spaces for vertical
clearance in garage drive aisles.
6) Fire marshal does not find references to exit lighting or emergency illumination, or fire
extinguisher installation on plans.
7) Provide permanent KNOX BOX at Main Street entrance and next to fire riser room for
after-hours FD access. Visit www.knoxbox.com for preauthorization from Snohomish
County FD#1.
8) Reminders for fire protection design:
a. Collocate fire alarm control panel in SPRINKLER room and provide FA enunciator
in RESIDENTIAL LOBBY.
b. Sprinkler system valve(s) will be electrically supervised by fire alarm. No PIV is
required in this design configuration where immediate access is provided by
exterior door to FACP and riser.
9) Call out elevator size to be adequate for Fire Department gurney.
