Dear Ms. Mercer:
I have reviewed the above building permit applicationfor the Planning Division,and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressedbefore review can continue:
Sign Location:
1.The City’s code requirements forpedestrian signs (ECDC 20.60.055) state that
pedestrian signs must be located within 10 feet of the building entry and within 2 feet of the building,
unless an exception is approved for an alternative location under the following circumstances:
a. An alternative location in front of the building or on the property occupied by the business is
less intrusive to pedestrian movement or accessibility; or
b. The building containing the business is set back from the property line and a location on the
property can be provided such that the sign does not encroach onto a public sidewalk;
You requested an alternativelocation for your sign, however, in order for an alternative location to be
approved, it cannot be located within the public sidewalk.Please modify your proposal and indicate a
different location for the sign that will be consistent with the above criteriaand that will not be located
within the public sidewalk.

2.Please provide the dimensions of the proposed sign.
Please submit twocopies of allrevised plan sheets to a DevelopmentServices Permit Coordinator. Our office
