West Coast Code Consultants, Inc. (WC3) has completed the first review (fire only) of the fire sprinkler submittal for Edmonds 2020 Fire Sprinkler located at 201 Main St., Edmonds, WA.
Our review was based upon the following submittal documents:Fire sprinkler plans dated 01/30/2018 by Moore Fire Protection.Hydraulic calculations dated 05/09/2018.Sway brace calculations.Material
specifications.
The Washington State Building, as currently adopted, and its referenced standards were used as the basis of our review. Our comments follow on the attached list. If you have any questions

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The plans for the above-mentioned project have been reviewed. The following comments address areas of concern, non-compliance with the governing code, potential errors, or omissions
in the proposed design. The appropriate design professional must address each comment below and submit a written response in addition to revised plans and calculations if necessary.
Please cloud any revisions made to the construction drawings and provide the date of the latest revision on each revised sheet.FIRE COMMENTS:
Please provide the square footage per floor area and the total square footage for the entire project.
Please provide what group hazard each floor area isor where that may be found on the material submitted.
All sprinkler piping shall be braced per the manufacturers table. Please provide the table or where it may be found regarding the CPVC Blaze Master product being used. Unable to find
this table on the material information provided.
Please provide information on the cure time recommendations of the cement product being used per the manufacturers listing for Blaze Master CPVC Piping.
GENERAL COMMENTS:
The following items do not require a written response or revisions at this time, yet these items will be required prior to the final approval and acceptance of the system.
Class I Standpipe installation to be installed in accordance with NFPA Standard 14 and 2015 Edition of Chapter 9 of the International Fire Code.
The basement or parking garage shall be installed in accordance with the 2013 Edition of NFPA13 Dry System requirements.
The retail area shall be installed in accordance with the 2013 Edition of NFPA Standard 13 for Wet Systems and in accordance with Chapter 9 of 2015 edition of International Fire Code.
The multifamilyresidential shall be installed in accordance with 2013 edition of NFPA 13R Standards.
The hydraulic calculations for the basement have been verified and accepted as well as the hydraulic calculations for residential area level 3
The seismic bracing calculations reviewed and accepted.
Corrections and comments made during the review process do not relieve the permit applicant or the designers from compliance with code requirements, conditions of approval, and permit
requirements; nor are the designers relieved of responsibility for a complete design in accordance with the laws of the state of Washington. This review is for general compliance with
the International Building Code as it relates to the project.
