Hi Ken,
I looked at the materials that were dropped off on Friday regarding the signs at the Edmonds library and setbacks from the property lines. The sign on the main street side of the library
is 15 feet from the property and thus compliant with setbacks. That sign may be reconstructed at its previous location. However, the sign on the Dayton street side is only 43 inches
from the property line. Pursuant to ECDC 20.60.045 <https://www.codepublishing.com/WA/Edmonds/#!/Edmonds20/Edmonds2060.html#20.60.045> .E a free standing sign not more than six feet
in height may be located no closer than five feet of the property line. The existing sign is therefore nonconforming and the extent of the work on the sign is more than a refacing
of the sign or ordinary maintenance. As such, the proposed sign on the Dayton Street side will have to be relocated so it is no closer than 5 feet to the property line in order to
be compliant with ECDC 20.60.040.E.
