Dear Mr. Mucci,
In response to your email sent to my office yesterday, it is your office that has created the misunderstanding
regarding the basement use—you are the one who indicated in plan review response dated 5113108 that the
basement was a shop. However, the City will accept the use of space as depicted on the plans (unfinished,
unheated basement) please verify with the homeowner that this is the correct use of space.
There are three areas on Sheet A2.2 indicating crawl spacelstorage space that have no apparent access
(IRC 408.4 requires access) and are fully enclosed by either walls or screens. Add appropriate crawl and
storage space access on the plans. To expedite review it is permissible to red line the plans at the permit
counter showing the accesses and also a note to remove the fan. Please contact Theresa Umbaugh, Senior
Permit Coordinator for assistance. The City will quote the standard review time for this resubmittal however it
is noted that for the Building Department the corrections are minor in nature. In order for the permit to be
issued all reviewing divisions must be signed off. Sincerely, Jeannine Graf
