Request for Alternate Design Reduce Grade of Horizontal Drainage Piping
Dear Mr, Hinton,
The City is in receipt of your request (dated January 31, 2007 received by the City on
May 11, 2007 and subsequent letter dated June 20, 2007) to reduce the slope of a 55 foot
portion of waste line to 1%. The specific governing code provision (2003 Uniform
Plumbing Code Section 708.0) requires a uniform slope of not less than 2% unless where
it is impractical due to the depth of the street sewer, structural features or the arrangement
of any building/structure a slope of not less than 118" of an inch per foot or one percent
may be approved by the Administrative Authority. Based on the information your office
has provided the request for below grade waste lines as shown on the attached reduced
plans dated 6/20/07 is hereby Approved.
