RE: Plan Check: BLD2013-1052
Hi Chuck
The shear wall location on north wall of the addition has been moved to the east end of this wall, as
noted on revised drawing and signed by engineer of record, Wendell Reed. Note stated that the shear
wall can be located anywhere along the north wall.
One of the windows of the west wall has been located to the north wall. No additional windows have
been added.
Hold downs for the proposed shear wall locations where installed in the revised locations prior to
pouring the foundation and inspected on 11-15-2013.
Additional item: at the time of permit issuance, to gain the .5 points for the energy code, it was
submitted to use window with a U value of 0.28 and insulate the new addition underfloor with R 38.
Since then we have decided to update the existing furnace with a high efficiency (95%) gas furnace and
to insulate the existing uninsulated under floor with R 30. In addition we have upgraded all the windows
in the existing house with insulated vinyl windows. I would propose that the U value of the windows be
as per attached schedule and the insulation of the underfloor of the new addition be R 30.
Thanks
Mick O'Neill
