Dear Mr. and Mrs. Chandler,
The City has received a complaint regarding an accessory building recently constructed in the
right-of-way south of your property. A building permit is not required for an accessory structure
200 square feet or less. However, the structure can not be located in the public right-of-way or
setback. The subject property is in the RS-6 Zone which requires a 5 foot side yard and 20 foot
street setback. Please note that the setback would be measured from your property line, not the
property line on the other side of the right-of-way.
Corrective actions required:
Please locate the accessory structure outside the public right-of-way and required
setbacks at your earliest convenience by December 17, 2012. You are encouraged to
contact the Planning Division regarding any new location prior to re-locating to confirm
compliance with the setback codes.
