As a party of record I would like to comment on the appellant's argument dated May 7'h
|arnintotal agreement with the appellant's argument and would hope that the City Council
would come to the same conclusion.
Since the early l99C/s|have followed the public notices inthe paper. Many times these donot
hold any interest, however |have become involved inmany through out the years that have a
center theme ofland use decisions. Still tothis day | must pull out nnydictionary and look up
words and terms I do not know because land use issues are not my profession. |tisimportant
for me to stick my head into the discussion when I feel in my gut that something is not right
with a proposal for a variance.
As|did with this one, | went tothe property and walked around. | read all ofthe information
that was supplied bythe City. | try tmbefair innnythinking, putting myself inboth the
applicant's shoes and as8citizen ofEdmonds that wants tosee the best for the City.
| do not live near this Site but as | said at the hearing, this oaS8 will be a true test for all future
rulings. I have been surprised at times in the past on a ruling that a hearing examiner has made
but this one will bother me for a long time if the homeowner gets to build a house on this site.
