Property Owner Tony Ramirez/Michael Aleman 1010164 th Street SW Lynnwood, WA 98087 Applicant Shoreline Sign & Awning 17034 Aurora Ave. N Shoreline, WA 98133 Design Review Process Design review for signs is considered a Type i decision subject to the requirements of ECDC 20.01.003 and ECDC 20.60 (Sign Code). Analysis: 1. Location. The project site is located at 23904 Highway 99 within the CG zone. The site is designated as Highway 99 Corridor in the Edmonds Comprehensive Plan. 2. Sign type. The proposed interior illuminated wall sign is a permitted sign type in the SR -99 area. 3. Size. CG -zoned sites are permitted a maximum of 200 square feet of signage for the entire site and individual wall signs are allowed I square foot per lineal foot of attached wall, There is an existing pole sign on the site and while the exact size of that sign is unknown, it is likely less than 100 square feet. As a result, there is approximately 100 square feet of signage available for the rest of the site. The wall where the proposed sign is to be located is 35 feet long and the sign itself measures 34.65 square feet; the proposed sign complies with the square footage requirement for wall signs. 4. Color. The proposed sign is a typical Taco Time combination of a white letters on a dark green cactus - shaped background. The white letters will be lit with white LEDs and the cactus will be lit with green halo illumination. 5. Height. Wall signs may be a maximum of 14' high or the height of the face of the building. In this case, the top of the sign will be less than the height of the face of the building at approximately 18 feet. Decision: Based on the facts and conclusions of this report, staff finds that the design review for this project (File No. BLD -2009-0418) is APPROVED. I have reviewed the application for compliance with the Edmonds Community Development Code.
