RE: Permit Old20060702, 706 Alder Street
Request to Exceed Driveway Slope of 14%
Dear Mr. Peterson,
This letter is being sent in response to your request to exceed the maximum allowed
driveway slope of 14%, dated .lune 8, 2007. Review of the submitted letter and
inspection of the site conclude that due to the existing site topography and steep slope of
Alder Street, achieving a 14% driveway slope would be difficult to accomplish. The
driveway was constructed in two separate segments, The Lipper portion of the drive, the
area where vehicles park, was constructed at less than a 14% slope. The lower portion of
the driveway was constructed with slopes between 14% and 20%. The existing sidewalk
along Alder Street was modified to current City standards, to be in compliance with ADA
requirements, which compounded the iSSLICS with trying to achieve a driveway slope of
less than 141,.
For these reasons, it is found reasonable to allow a maximum driveway slope up to 20%.
Please feel free to contact Jeanie McConnell at 425-771-0220, ext. 1338 should you have
any questions.
Sincerely,
'AVID K. EBERT
