Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 Subiect: Westgate Village — Building Permit —15t Review Comment Responses (Fire) This comment response letter addresses comments made by the City of Edmonds regarding the 1st Building Permit submittal for the Westgate Village Mixed -Use project. The comments contained in that letter, sent electronically on February 1, 2017, are addressed below. 1. Sheet C-1.0 a. Callout fire lane markings per attached Department of Fire Prevention Fire Access Standard. Response: Fire lane markings identified per Snohomish County Fire District requirements. b. Extend fire access road near the trash enclosure for aerial apparatus access. Response: Fire access road extended as directed. c. Correct and call out fire access road turning radius per Department of Fire Prevention Fire Access Standard — 25' inside, 45' outside. Response: Fire access road meets minimum required turning radii. The lane itself has been adjusted such that the edges of the lane are adjacent to curbs and parking stalls, but dimensions are provided illustrating that minimum turning radii are met. 2. Sheet C-2.0 a. Call out weight rating of storm water vault —must support fire apparatus, 75,000 Ibs point load. Response: The stormwater vault is an existing vault, and was approved and installed as part of a previous permit. Vault is traffic -rated as required. 3. Sheet C-3.0 a. Relocate the FDC near the existing hydrant on the east side of the main access road from Edmonds Way. I FC 912.2. Response: FDC relocated as directed. 4. Sheet C-7.2 a. DCDA-Vault Detail, callout — FDC shall have a UL listed 4" Storz fitting with a 30-degree downward deflection. Detail currently shows 2 2-1/2" connections. Response: Detail modified as directed. b. DCDA-Vault Detail, callout post indicator valve (PIV) upstream from check valves. Response: PIV relocated as directed.
