Hi Eric,
Thanks for your email. I it took me a couple days, but I was able to get some more accurate
numbers from our general contractor for the z portions of the projects, as well as the Special
Inspection form signed by all parties. That form is attached.
Here are the numbers I got from our general regarding the House foundation versus the
retaining wall/restoration work.
• House pin piles and deck support piles: $32,000
• Pin pile shoring wall and slope re -vegetation: $40,000
Let me know if you need any additional info or have any questions.
Thank you Eric,

Mr. Wichers,
During the review of your application of permit BLD2017-0496 it has become
apparent some clarification is needed. Your proposed project appears to be two
parts, (a) remove existing retaining wall and construct a new one in its place. Part
(b) is to install pin piles to support the existing home and deck. The way the City
of Edmonds calculates it's fees are either based on a flat fee for certain types of
permits such as a retaining wall, or by the valuation of the work to be performed.
In order to calculate the fees correctly, would you separate the valuation of the
retaining wall and provide the valuation of the pin piles and remaining work to be
performed to stabilize the home. Lastly I have attached a Special Inspection
Testing agreement that will need to be filled out in its entirety and returned prior
to permit issuance.
Thank you,
