In reviewing the building permit application for the Nichols/Wong residence on your property
th
addressed 9810 235 Pl. SW (BLD20161468), it was found that you will need to record a notice on
title due to the Landslide Hazard Area located on this property. Last year, City Council passed an
ordinance requiring parcels with potential Landslide Hazard Areas to record notice on title before
issuance of any building permit. The form must be notarized (which we provide for free at our office)
by all property owners. Then the form must be recorded at the Snohomish County’s recording office
in Everett (current County recording fee is $73 + $1 for each additional page for a total of $76), or
the City of Edmonds can record the document for you for a fee of $100 plus County fees for a total
of $176.
The form is attached for your review. If everything looks correct, please sign and return it to our
office for recording. If you would rather avoid the additional recording surcharge, please sign this
document before a notary, record it and then provide me a copy of the proof of recording. I’ll also
have a printed copy in our office available for you to pick up this afternoon.

Prospective purchasers are advised hereby that these regulations may limit the type and/or
location of development or other use that may occur on the property. Please contact the City of
Edmonds for specific informationabout the applicable critical area regulations.
This notice shall remain on the title records of Snohomish County until released by the
City of Edmonds, which shall only occur if the owner is able to submit a critical areas report to
demonstrate to the City of Edmonds that the critical area designation no longer appliesto the
Property. Any release of this notice shall be subject to applicable procedural provisions ofthe
ECDC.
