The approved permit already has an approved City traffic plan for closing the roadway. (The crane will set up at the beginning of work, crane out the transformer, then leave.) This hasn’t changed. The job description and timeframe have changed. See details below: Job Description Maintenance to existing padmount transformer and install of new padmount transformer for customer. Work will be done with a crane set up in existing loading dock with closure of northbound land of 2nd Ave N for safety. Lane closure will be for approx. 2-4 hours. Building has generator so no outage expected. Job is estimated to take approx. 16 hrs. Work will begin at approx. 9am on a normal work day M-F and worked until complete. Work will be performed on a Sunday and will begin at approx. 6am and worked until complete. Reason for Change The reason for the extension is that the customer is not yet ready for the transformer. Their construction timelines were pushed out by his delays. The work day changed to Sunday because the Post Office won’t allow us to block their loading dock during business hours. The transformers are located behind the Post Office loading dock and there is no other access. The Post Office requires access to the dock Monday through Saturday. Please let us know if you have questions!
