Engineering Comments 1.pdfCITY OF EDMONDS PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS ENGINEERING DIVISION (425) 771-0220 City Website: www.edmondswa.gov DATE: September 25, 2018 TO: Tim Heyes, Sign Associates timhe es&signassociatesinc.com FROM: JoAnne Zulauf Engineering Technician RE: Application #: bld20181149 Project: Coastal Bank Sign Project Address: 123 3rd Avenue S During review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning and Building, may result in additional comments. Please redline plans or submit three (3) sets of revised plans/documents with a written response to each of the items below to a permit coordinator. Resubmittals can be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd floor of City Hall. Permit Center hours are M, T, Th & F from 8am-4:30pm and on Wednesdays from 8:30am-12pm. 1. Please provide a scaled detail drawing showing edge of road, edge of sidewalk, landscaping, property line and the signs B and C (the scaled bases of the signs). All signs shall be placed to avoid sight distance obstruction for ingress and egress of this property and any other property adjacent to the site. 2. If you are proposing to install the signs in the public right of way: A Street Use permit provides opportunity for private property owners or tenants to install temporary objects (in this case a sign) in or over the right of way in specific circumstances under specific criteria for an indefinite amount of time. The Street Use permit application document includes an indemnification clause by which the property owner accepts liability from any injuries, damages or claims connected to the installation now and over the life of the installation. An example would be if one or more parts fell off the sign and injured someone on the sidewalk below. The person who signs this application is accepting all liability for the installation of the sign over City right of way. The responsible party is customarily the party that owns the sign not the company that creates and installs the sign. Please find the Street Use Handout which includes the application on the city website to complete and submit if needed. engineering comments Ldocx Page 1 of 1
