PLN20190053— Landscape Modification
Chase Bank — 424 5th Ave S
The comments provided below are based upon review of the application and documents
submitted for the subject application. Additional information is requested from the applicant
at this time. Please ask the applicant to respond to the following.
1) A landscape modification plan was provided for the removal of the sweetgum tree in
the City Right -of -Way (ROW) on 5th Ave S; however, a replanting plan was not
included in the supplied documents. After further review, it seems most appropriate to
replace the "street tree" with a tree in a tree grate within the City sidewalk. The City
has agreed to take part in this effort and therefore we are requesting the plans to be
updated as follows:
a. Show removal of the existing sweetgum tree, including the stump.
b. Show removal of the existing sidewalk, along the property frontage.
c. Add a note to the plans stating the City will complete the sidewalk restoration.
d. Add a note to the plans stating the owner will need to purchase the tree grate.
Refer to City standard detail TR-551.
e. Add a note to the plans stating the timing of removal and replacement of the
sidewalk will need to be coordinated with the City's Street Division, noting
Tod Moles as the contact - 425-771-0235.
2) Please also note that the sweetgum tree shall be fell onto private property. Should it
become necessary to utilitize any portion of the City right-of-way, including the street
or sidewalk, to perform any of this work then the contractor shall apply for and obtain
a right-of-way construction permit in advance of starting. A traffic control plan
will be required as part of the right-of-way permit application.
3) Contractor/owner is responsible for keeping all debris on site and preventing any silt
laden runoff from leaving the site and/or entering the city storm system.
4) Contractor/owner is responsible for locating all on -site utilities and any utilities on
neighboring properties that could be impacted by the tree removal.
Relocation/revision/repair to any utilities may require separate permit.
Thank you.
