The beam along the north side of the rear patio roof was hung from its post rather than bearing on top of the post. The hanger used, HUCQ5.25/12, is structurally adequate to carry the required loads. No retrofitting should be required. 2. The shear wall between the den and the powder room has perforations along the top plate to allow for HVAC. This wall is responsible for resisting 150 PLF lateral load (p. 5.1 house lateral calcs) or 10'x150 PLF = 1500 lbs. The perforations in the shear wall leave us with approximately 4'- 6" of shear transfer length. 15001bs/ 5351bs/A35 = 2.8. Install a minimum of (3) A35 clips from floor framing to double top plate within the 4'-6" of undisturbed shear wall. No further retrofitting should be required. Should there be any questions or comments please contact our office. Sincerely, rA2 Andrew Gahan, PE 15/7 019
