During plumbing installation, 4" diameter holes were drilled in floor joists (1-0) over the
garage. These holes were drilled less than the minimum edge distance allowed.
Two LVL members and a strap shall be installed at the hole to resist the bending and
shear forces due to the reduced section caused by the hole.
See the attached partial plans, hand calculations, and detail.
