As I mentioned, the Edmonds Public Facilities District Board and Staff as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Snohomish County Board & Staff would like to begin an exploration of the feasibility of relocating the Edmonds Boys & Girls Club to the Edmonds Center for the Arts campus. This idea is in the very early stages, and has only been discussed in broad concept. We would like to meet with the City of Edmonds Development Department later this month, if possible, for an initial review of applicable building and use codes, and any potential challenges/opportunities this idea may present. For everyone’s understanding, the primary concept in consideration is the removal of the existing Music Building on the SW corner of the campus (4th and Daley), and replacing it with a new facility for both Boys & Girls Club and ECA use. I would like to ask Shane and her team to please work with Lisa Helber, our Executive Assistant (copied here), to coordinate an initial meeting between the Public Facilities District and the City’s Development Team. I will be out of the office until Tuesday, February 19, so I would ask that we look to set something up after that date. Bill – if you or others from the Boys & Girls Club would like to be included in this initial session, please let us know and we will include you in the scheduling process. If not, the District can gather the information and take notes, and then we’ll set a time to meet shortly thereafter. Thank you all, in advance, for your time and your interest in this concept. I believe it could be a great opportunity for all three entities.
