Good Evening Melida,
I went out to the Park Place at Edmonds to view the car strike damage. Present on site was Ed Fajardo and Arlene Sarmiento the homeowners, Milton Thompson the building official and a
construction worker with Mcleod Construction who’s name I didn’t get.
The Car jumped the curb in front of the unit and struck a cripple stud just below the unit window. During the site visit the exterior finishes had been removed in the area immediate
the impact zone and I was able to observe the sill plate, the middle cripple stud and the two cripple studs on each end of the window.
The middle cripple stud had rotated on the sill plate slightly and also damaged the interior sheet rock. The sill plate had minor cracking at an existing anchor bolt but the damage was
minor and not of concern. The edge cripple studs were in good shaped and hadn’t appeared to move at all. Based on what I saw on site the strike hadn’t damaged any structural members
and there was no concern structurally with the condition of the building. Milton Thompson the building official agreed with my assessment and found no reason to tag the damage or limit
access to the units above. I will provide a brief report essentially reiterating what I mentioned in this email and should be able to get that to you tomorrow. If you need anything
else from me in the meantime please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thanks.
