Subject: Geotechnical Opinions
Groundwater Discharging into the Infiltration System
Proposed Single -Family Residence
9303 Olympic View Drive, Edmonds, WA
Dear Mr. Loewen,
As requested, this letter is prepared to present our opinions regarding the groundwater
discharging into the infiltration system at the above -referenced site. We understand that
construction of the single-family residence at the subject site is completed. A portion of the
house has a basement with the foundation level at about 9 feet below the ground surface. The
foundation level in the other areas of the house is about 4 feet below the ground surface. Footing
drains have been installed at the foundation levels per design.
During our test pit excavation to 9 feet below the surface in January 2015, no groundwater
seepage was encountered within the test pit depth. Groundwater or seepage was not observed at
the foundation level during our footing subgrade inspection in March 2016. Based on our
observations of test pit excavations and footing subgrade conditions in the wet season of 2015
and 2016, it is our opinion that groundwater or seepage will be negligible at the foundation level.
It is our further opinion that groundwater discharging to the infiltration system is negligible and
is permitted to discharge to the system as designed.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service. Please feel free to contact us if you have
questions or need additional information.
