The following information is needed before a decision can be made regarding your request: • On the request letter, reference the property address, owner name and permit number. Include that your requested is being made per UPC 301.2. • Provide a plumbing isometric showing what fixtures the air admittance valve is serving. • If the air admittance valve is serving more than the kitchen sink/dishwasher shown in the pictures, show why each of the other fixtures cannot be vented with an approved method in the UPC. • Clearly show/state why a loop vent cannot be provided, even with a soffit. • State specifically what model of Studor vent you are requesting approval of, including specification sheet from the manufacturer. • The City has no record of permits being issued for this kitchen addition. An approval for an Alternate Methods and Materials to allow the previous air admittance valve would have been required, and we have to record of one be issued. Please have the owner provide us copies of City permits for the addition and approval for the air admittance valve. As a point of clarification regarding rough -in approval, the building inspector did not sign off rough -in plumbing for this project. Instead he wrote a correction regarding the air admittance valve. Sincerely, Ann Bullis, CBO Building Official • Incorporated August 11, 1890 • Sister City - Hekinan, Japan
