Dear Ms. Glynn,
The City has received a complaint that the rear (old pool equipment) storage building has been converted
into habitable space, an attached roof was added over a patio, a habitable addition was added to the old pool
storage building and that a 2 story accessory structure has been constructed. Each one of these
developments require a building and/or other land -use permits. City records indicate that permits have not
been acquired for these alterations and additions. It was also noted that several accessory buildings (tent)
have been constructed along the SE side yard within the setback area.
Given the breadth of the apparent violations, it is not possible to detail the corrective actions in this letter.
The most effective first step to bringing the property into compliance would be to arrange a meeting with
me and the City Building Inspector at the property. This would allow the City to provide more specific
direction and help you prioritize the required actions. However, if you prefer, you can simply apply for the
permits. Inspections would take place as part of that process. Please note that restrictions do exist for
accessory building height, setbacks, lot coverage and second dwelling units, so it is possible that some
changes at the property may not be allowed or require modification.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience by June 23, 2015 to respond to this letter and advise how
you have decided to proceed. An Order to Correct is issued if no contact is made.
A handout is enclosed outlining construction work that is exempt from a building pen -nit. Thank you in
